Nasopharyngeal angiofibroma, which occurs almost exclusively in adolescent boy, is a rare histologically benign tumor, however, this tumor is clinically considered malignancy because of the anatomical relationship, intracranial extension,
bleeding
tendency during surgical procedure and recurrence after treatment.
Preoperative angiography is essential for the evaluation and embolization of feeding vessel ; this in turn significantly reduces operative blood loss, among various surgical methods, midfacial degloving approach obviates visible scarring and
allows,
adequate exposure to nasopharynx.
We experienced a case of nasopharyngeal angiofibroma in 24-years-old male that was resected by combined midfacial degloving and transpalatal approach after superselective embolization with good results.
